We restore historics, classic cars and race cars. Its a long process that usually starts informally with the client to agree a specification for the car, which generally depends upon its marque, current condition and of course the commercial aspects. The car will be totally stripped and each item catologued and bagged / boxed for storage. All new / replacement parts or parts for replacement will need to be sourced and priced. A detailed catologue usually immerges
The body will be stripped to asses the condition underneath , paintwork and panel condition. A plan can then be formed for the body restoration, equally a suitable repairer will be choosen to paint the vehicle, we use several as each often specialises
The engine and transmision at this point will have been assesed either in house or by an external specialist. After this we will have a good idea of how the car might progress and final costings.
Thereafter it is simply a case of us putting it back together, as one source said !
