Sierra Cosworth

We operate from a 3000 sq ft facility, which has been fitted purposely for what we do, you wont find a typical garage, we will show you what we do with examples of our work and you will spend many hours discussing matters with you as we progress.

The first example here is a race prepared Sierra Cosworth RS, which not only went on to be an outright winners, but was later sold at Silverstone and received excellent reviews.

The car was started in 2012 and built from a motorsport shell. After much searching we found a new one at Malcolm Wilson.

The engine was built by Ric Wood based on the 200 block. All steel construction and was built for over 500bhp , it ran a 38mm restrictor in the racing class so output was less than that.

Gearbox was the usual Borg and Warner cosworth box coupled with an AP clutch

The axle, suspension were stripped shot blasted and powder coated to look as new (if not better) and new bearing through out before reaasemble

Brakes wre AP and rear discs were the larger cosworth ones

A donor sierra was puchased for many of the trim parts and door seals etc and the common parts from the sierra range

Electrics was a sierra cosworth series 1 (Level 1 ecu) engine bay loom and a standard sierra loom modified aroung the dash and extra items for the race car

After the shell work and roll cage, it was dry built for brake pipes etc , then stripped to be sent to paint in the usual cossie black

Wheels had to have the original look of the car and the choice became obvious after looking around

With all bits now available, the rebuild commenced and it was not long before we had the car ready for its first shake down

This was car build number 12 for us.
